In April 2008, the Bank signed an agreement with IFC, pursuant to which the Bank joined to IFC’s Global Trade Finance Program as a Confirming Bank. The IFC instruments allow the Bank to expand its foreign trade operations for private sector businesses in Ukraine by increasing access to finance through different trade instruments that are associated with exports from, or imports to, any of IFC’s emerging market members, that include 280 issuing banks in more than 96 countries worldwide.
In mid-2009, the Bank signed an agreement with the IFC allowing it to act as an Issuing Bank within the IFC’s Global Trade Finance Program pursuant to which the IFC issues guarantees in respect of the payment obligations issued by the Bank in connection with exports and imports of its customers in favour of Confirming Banks.
Current limit of IFC trade finance guarantee to Ukreximbank amounts USD 80 million.
