The International Finance Corporation (IFC) Global Trade Partners Meeting, celebrating the 20th anniversary of the Global Trade Finance Program was held in Barcelona between 7th and 9th of May 2024. More than 340 trade finance professionals from 57 countries took part in the conference.
One of the conference's key events was the panel discussion "Towards the City of Light: Harmonizing Trade Financing with the Goals of the Paris Climate Agreement", featuring speakers from various countries and continents, including Ecobank (Africa), Deniz Bank (Türkiye), and CaixaBank (Spain).
Ukreximbank was represented by Oleksandr Shchur, Member of the Management Board. Mr Shchur told the participants of the event how the environment of Ukraine suffered and continues to suffer during the war, what help is needed from Western partners to restore the country, how the country implements the principles of sustainable development legislatively and what environmental procedures are implemented in our bank when evaluating credit projects.
At the end of the conference, Ukreximbank was honoured with the "Outstanding GTFP Issuing Bank Honorable Mention Eastern Europe 2024" award at the ceremony held for IFC partner banks.

This award is a testament to the high efficiency of our work and the significant role that Ukreximbank plays in the recovery and development of Ukraine's economy," - said Oleksandr Shchur, Member of the Management Board of Ukreximbank.
It is worth noting that in 2023-2024, within the framework of the GTFP program of the IFC, the bank implemented more than 20 deals for a total amount of more than USD 120 million. It is a very powerful result of the Ukreximbank's team involved in the trade finance process.
