Ukreximbank will provide financing to the Dnipro City Council for projects aimed at insulating facades, conducting major roof repairs (thermal modernisation) of residential buildings and repairing residential buildings damaged by the russian missile attacks. The agreement amounts to EUR 7.65 million (including EUR 5 million under the EBRD's Resilience and Livelihoods Framework Programme, which was launched by the EBRD in response to the war in Ukraine) and has a term of 5 years.
"Timely financing of reconstruction is a prerequisite for the successful development of our country. External funding has been suspended due to the war, but the need for reconstruction is urgent. Major repairs and insulation of housing, construction of shelters, restoration of damaged infrastructure, and purchase of energy-efficient equipment for utilities are priority projects for both communities and the Bank. This is precisely why Ukreximbank signed a loan agreement with the EBRD, allowing financing for enterprises and municipalities affected by the war. I feel proud that our Bank is involved in the implementation of the plans of the Dnipro community," comments Mykhailo Medko, Member of Ukreximbank's Management Board.
"The primary goal of this project is to renovate public buildings, but we must do so in line with modern energy efficiency standards. This agreement strengthens and advances our reconstruction program. Step by step, we will make our community energy-independent. This is yet another contribution to our Victory," said Volodymyr Miller, Deputy Mayor.
Ukreximbank has already implemented several successful projects to finance cities during the war. The existing Bank’s programs and active operations for cities and municipal enterprises challenges of any complexity.
