On March 31, 2022, the National Bank of Ukraine has approved the appointment of Sergii Iermakov as the Chairman of the Management Board of JSC Ukreximbank. Earlier, on March 14, 2022, the Bank’s Supervisory Board made a decision to approve Sergii Iermakov as the Chairman of the Management Board until the end of the martial law in Ukraine. After the end of the martial law, the Supervisory Board shall announce a new competitive selection process for the position of the Chairman of the Management Board of JSC Ukreximbank.
As reported earlier, on October 12, 2021, Sergii Iermakov was appointed as acting CEO of the Bank and on December 17, 2021, an open competitive selection process for the position of the Chairman of the Management Board began. The selection process was supposed to complete in March 2022.
On February 24, 2022, the day when the second stage of the competitive selection process was to begin, the Russian Federation launched its full-scale military aggression against Ukraine. Martial law regime was introduced on the entire territory of the country in accordance with Decree of the President of Ukraine № 64/2022 "On the Introduction of Martial Law in Ukraine", dated February 24, 2022.
Recognizing the exceptional importance of the continuous and effective management of the state-owned Ukreximbank in the context of maintaining the stability of Ukraine’s financial system during the war, and guided by the current legislation, namely subparagraph 2 of paragraph 330 of the Resolution of the National Bank of Ukraine № 149 dated 22.12.2018, which prohibits a person from performing the duties of the CEO of the bank for more than six consecutive months, on March 14, 2022, the Supervisory Board of JSC Ukreximbank appointed Sergii Iermakov, one of the three finalists of the competitive selection process, as the Chairman of the Bank’s Management Board for the period until the completion of the new competitive selection. The latter will be announced immediately after the end of martial law in Ukraine.
